The program of the Festival “La Voce e l’Orchestra” has undergone several important changes from what had previously been announced: if on the one hand the star of the first concert is confirmed - the concert being scheduled on Thursday 19 May at 8.30 pm with great Russian bass Dmitry Beloselsky, who is performing works by Modest Mussorgsky, accompanied by Juraj Valčuha - the prim donna of the second event, dedicated to Giacomo Puccini’s most celebrated opera arias, is Maria Agresta, one of today’s most popular lyric sopranos worldwide. Her recital concert, dedicated to Manon Lescaut, Turandot, Suor Angelica, Tosca, and Madama Butterfly, is scheduled on Thursday 26 May at 8.30 pm, and is conducted by Pietro Rizzo.
The third event of the festival – on Thursday 9 June at 8.30 pm – sees another new star walking the stage: soprano Rachel Harnisch is performing arias by Mozart from Idomeneo, Lucio Silla, Il Re Pastore, and Don Giovanni. Hansjörg Albrecht will be on the podium. Much appreciated by Claudio Abbado, Rachel Harnisch has made Mozart one of the reference composers of her international career.
The program of the fourth concert remains unchanged and is scheduled on Thursday 16 June at 8.30 pm, with Jeffrey Tate conducting. The British conductor, with soprano Kate Valentine and tenor Brenden Gunnel, are presenting pages of the great German repertoire, with composers like Richard Wagner (Parsifal and Die Walküre) and Richard Strauss (Intermezzo and Ariadne auf Naxos).
